Hibiskus – Reserve Champion Stallion

Hibiskus began his public career at a very young age. As a foal, he was part of the elite auction collection “Medinger Herbst” in 2000, where he was discovered by Karin Kröger of Hamburg. She remained his owner until his successful licensing in Neumünster in 2002, after which Hibiskus moved to Gestüt Sommerlade.

At his licensing, Hibiskus was named Reserve Champion Stallion. The breeding director in Neumünster described him as follows:
“The positive pedigree influences of his sire Latimer and grandsire Hohenstein, combined with the blood connection to Caprimond, are beautifully united in this Reserve Champion. Trakehner brilliance and nobility meet with excellent movement quality in walk, trot, and canter, combined with energetic impulsion and an air of distinction.”

In 2003, at his 30-day performance test in Schlieckau, Hibiskus achieved the second-best dressage result of all 30 participating stallions. For character and temperament he received a score of 9.0, while the judges awarded his willingness to perform the top score of 10.0.
